Mary Beth

I grew up in Cape Breton and graduated as a massage therapist in 1998. Since that time I have worked in a variety of therapeutic settings throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick from sports teams, spas and clinics.

I began working at Glenbourne Chiropractic in June 2006 after having recently returned to the Halifax area.  Currently, I am registered with Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS), one of the regulatory associations in this province.

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of complaints and conditions.  As a clinical massage therapist, I am fortunate to enjoy working with a broad range of patients providing therapeutic treatment. I regularly include varied massage techniques along with hydrotherapy, and home care exercises to provide the best possible care for my patients. In the beginning of my career, I chose to specialize my studies in sports massage (working with both the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and the Moncton Wildcats) and deep tissue massage techniques.  While I still provide those types of treatments, I am currently working towards my masters course in TMJ dysfunction and pre and post natal massage, high risk pregnancy and labour support.

As the years have passed I have been fortunate to have learned and experienced so much and I have come to appreciate what each and every one of my clients has to teach me!  My professional future offers so much diversity as I look to eventually become a certified yoga instructor. I feel this will allow me to offer a more well-rounded treatment experience to my clients. I am dedicated to supporting and enabling my clients to achieve optimal health and overall wellbeing by providing timely, efficient and effective massage treatments in a safe and comfortable environment.
