Dr. Cora-Lee Peddle, Chiropractor

I first discovered chiropractic in 1996. At the time I was completing my Bachelors of Science in Biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Like many I had the childhood dream of becoming a medical doctor because I believed that would be my way of giving back and helping others. I had virtually no knowledge of chiropractic when a friend, who was working as a massage therapist in a chiropractic clinic, suggested that it would be a good fit for me. I began doing my research and meeting with chiropractors in an attempt to learn as much as I possibly could about chiropractic.
It wasn’t until I began treatment that my interest in chiropractic began to take hold. I had a very painful episode of acute torticollis while studying in university. My medical doctor quickly treated the immediate symptoms with prescriptions for a muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatory. However the recurrent neck pain, stiffness and headache that followed never subsided. Three years later, following my first visit to my chiropractor, I felt an immediate improvement. Within a few treatments I was pain and headache free. It was at this time that I realized that chiropractic was the answer – I could help others in a completely natural, drug-free, surgery-free way.
After being accepted to Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto I had the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the greatest chiropractors of our time. My interest quickly developed into a passion. During practice, I have seen how chiropractic can change a patient’s life beyond pain control. Patients that I see in my clinic have often been through every form of “health” care possible. Chiropractic is often their last attempt. I have had not only been able to help them feel and function better but I have been able to influence their overall health and well being.
In this day and age, we are all concerned with taking care of our hearts and avoiding potentially carcinogenic substances. Cancer and heart disease are at the forefront of our minds. But did you know that your brain is the control center of your body and that the spinal cord and nerves are the pathways through which our bodies’ messages are passed? The health of our nervous system should be something that we take seriously. The simple beauty of chiropractic is that it harnesses the bodies’ ability to heal itself by normalizing the skeletal system and therefore the nervous system, which travels through it. As a result it relieves the cause of the symptom and not just the symptom itself. In order to stay healthy and feel energized, my family and I are adjusted regularly. I encourage you to come in and have a spinal checkup or, if you are already a chiropractic patient, to continue with your care.
